CX-9 Headlight Buying Guide (2018–2023)
One generation — the whole story
The 2nd-generation CX-9 (TC) ran 2016–2023 in North America before Mazda replaced it with the CX-90. Any 2018–2023 CX-9 headlight fits any other — LED was standard across the range, so there is no halogen-vs.-LED decision. Match the side.
| Year Range | Generation | Headlight Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 2018–2023 | 2nd gen (TC) | LED headlights standard on all trims; discontinued after 2023 |
The discontinued flagship opportunity
The CX-9 was Mazda’s flagship — and flagships get kept. Owners who bought the top Mazda SUV tend to maintain them for a decade, and with the model discontinued, dealer support thins while aftermarket demand holds. A correctly-scoped 2018–2023 collection with almost no SEO competition is exactly what these searches deserve.
Why LED replacements cost what they do
Full LED assemblies are sealed units with integrated drivers and adaptive front-lighting circuitry on upper trims — there is no cheap bulb swap inside. The payoff is factory-correct beam patterns with zero wiring hacks.
