Camry Headlight Buying Guide (2018–2026)

Three designs in nine model years

The Camry changed twice in this range: the 8th generation (XV70) ran 2018–2024 with a facelift for 2021, and the 9th generation (XV80) arrived for 2025 — hybrid-only in North America. That leaves three distinct headlight fitments — 2018–2020, 2021–2024, and 2025–2026 — and none interchange.

Year Range Generation Headlight Notes
2018–2020 8th gen (XV70) pre-facelift Halogen projector on LE/SE; LED on XLE/XSE
2021–2024 8th gen (XV70) facelift Revised fascia and lighting details; same trim split — not interchangeable with 2018–2020
2025–2026 9th gen (XV80, hybrid-only) LED standard; all-new design — aftermarket catalog still catching up, verify fitment

The 2021 facelift matters more than it looks

The 2021 refresh is easy to underestimate — same generation, similar face. But the fascia rework changed headlight mounting and detailing enough that 2018–2020 and 2021–2024 assemblies do not interchange. If your Camry is a 2021 or newer (pre-2025), buy from the facelift fitment only.

2025+: all hybrid — and that changes nothing about the lights

Every 2025+ Camry sold in North America is a hybrid. That sounds like a fitment variable, but it isn’t: lighting assemblies are identical regardless of powertrain, in every generation. Order by year and trim — never by hybrid vs. gas.

Halogen vs. LED by trim

On the 8th generation, LE and SE trims came with halogen projector headlights (with LED daytime running lights); XLE and XSE stepped up to full LED. The 9th generation standardized LED across the lineup. Upgrading an 8th-gen car means a complete LED assembly for your exact sub-generation — not LED bulbs in the halogen projector.

The commuter factor

The Camry is America’s best-selling sedan and Canada’s long-haul commuter king — which means high mileage, winter highway stone chips, and UV-hazed lenses. If your 2018–2020 lenses are yellowed, a fresh pair restores more night visibility than any bulb upgrade ever will.

Checklist before ordering

  • Sub-generation — 2018–2020 vs. 2021–2024 vs. 2025+; the facelift is a hard split.
  • Hybrid or gas — irrelevant; same part.
  • Halogen projector or LED — match factory spec or upgrade the full assembly.
  • Side — driver, passenger, or matched pair.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will 2022 Camry headlights fit my 2025?

No. The 2025 Camry is the all-new 9th generation (XV80) with completely different headlights. 2018–2024 assemblies do not fit.

Is a 2020 headlight the same as a 2021?

No. The 2021 facelift changed the fascia and headlight fitment. 2018–2020 (pre-facelift) and 2021–2024 (facelift) are not interchangeable.

My Camry is a hybrid. Are the headlights different?

No. Hybrid and gas Camrys use identical headlight assemblies within the same year and trim — including the hybrid-only 9th generation.

Can I upgrade my halogen headlights to LED?

Yes, with complete LED assemblies built for your exact sub-generation. Do not install LED bulbs into the factory halogen projector.
