Prius Fog Light Buying Guide (2018–2026)
Two generations, two bumper designs
Prius fog lamps sit in the lower front bumper, and the 2023 redesign changed the bumper completely. Two distinct fitments — 2018–2022 and 2023–2026 — that do not interchange.

The hypermiler’s winter case
Prius drivers do their miles in the worst conditions — pre-dawn commutes, freezing rain, lake-effect snow — because the car’s whole point is cheap all-weather transportation. Bumper-mounted fog lamps are the highest-value visibility upgrade for that duty cycle, and a burned-out pair on a 300,000-km car is maintenance, not vanity.
Which Prius trims have fog lights?
Fog lamps were equipped on upper trims; base trims commonly shipped with blank filler panels. If your Prius never had them, you need the complete kit (lamps, bezels, wiring, switch).
Halogen vs. LED
Factory Prius fogs were halogen where equipped. LED replacements are the standard upgrade — brighter, whiter, lower draw. Insist on a true fog beam pattern (wide, low, SAE-compliant).

Frequently Asked Questions
My base Prius has no fog lights, just blank panels. What do I need?
A complete kit: lamps, bezels, wiring harness, and switch. The lamps alone cannot mount where your bumper has no fog light provisions.
Will 2021 Prius fog lights fit my 2024?
No. The 2023 redesign changed the front bumper — 4th gen (2018–2022) and 5th gen (2023+) fog lights are not interchangeable.
Do fog lights affect fuel economy?
Negligibly — and LED replacements draw even less than the factory halogens they replace.
